The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica: One Delighted Reader’s Review

rosebook
I have a special and specific love for libraries. I always have. Maybe it was because I grew up in a town where the only book store we had sold how-to manuals and office supplies, and the only chance I had at getting my hands on the newest piece of fiction was to travel three towns over and buy it from the mall or, at my age with no money and no car, visit my local library.

Now, well into adulthood, I spend most of my time surrounded by books. I am always, at some point or another, reading one, reviewing one, adding one to my already overflowing collection, and never, not once, has anyone ever heard me complain about it.

To say that I’m a bookworm would be of course, cliché, but I urge you pick up your dictionary, flip the page to bookworm and look at the definition. Then, yes, there slightly to the right, see that picture? Why yes, that is me with my black framed spectacles holding my current book of choice.

In fact, in the case of my untimely demise I have just one request, I’d like to die the way I live, buried in books, and if I must be specific, make them sexy books, and I have to be more specific than that, bury me right there smack dab in the middle of Rose Caraway’s The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica, which I happened to have had the pleasure of being snuggled up with for the better part of the week.

For me, the bigger the book, the better, so this book appealed to me before I even turned back the cover. The twenty-two stories are not only perfectly lengthy and equally meaty, but are preceded by Bix Warden’s clever foreward and Ms. Caraway’s own spot on introduction.

Bookended with stories by well known sex writer and editor Rachel Kramer Bussel and the Ms. Caraway herself, this anthology offers up shelf after shelf of goodness, so much so that as I was reading, highlighting and taking notes (because I do that) I realized that it would be difficult to point out my favorites.

While I enjoyed them all, yes, every last one, I was particularly fond of Bussel’s Book Swap, where book lover Brianna swaps books mid flight with a her seatmate, who happens to be a sexy young Dom. Embarrassed at first by his discovery of her choice of reading, she is pleasantly surprised at what fantasies, pleasure and punishments he has in store for her upon landing.

The story immediately following, Lillian Douglas’s Sensate Silicone, appealed to the gadget geek in me. A self proclaimed porn star and sexpert who not only enjoys but endorses dildos, is introduced to the ultimate sex toy, and she pleasures herself in a way she never imagined she could.

Fans of mythology will enjoy Janine Ashbless’s Three Legs In The Morning, a smart, incredibly well told fairy tale type story that highlights bits of voyeurism, mystery and intrigue.

But oh, the cherry on my southern ice cream sundae was Salome Wilde’s Moonshine Ballad. Lyrical and literary, this story was as satisfying as apple pie, and as fulfilling as forty-five minutes on the dirt floor of your grandfather’s barn.

I can never turn a blind eye to exhibitionism, so Full-Frontal Neighbor by Lynn Townsend tickled my fancy as well and if you’re hungry for oral, hotel sex and a wee bit of cuckolding, then by all means, follow the arrows to Sommer Marsden’s Appetizer where Jamie indulges his wife’s fantasy as a surprise, letting the eager Oliver whet her appetite before he took over to fill her up.

As I mentioned, I’m a story whore, and in this collection I could absolutely dote on every one, but I always prefer show over tell. So, by all means let me show you the way to Rose Caraway’s The Sexy Librarian’s Big Book of Erotica, and you thumb through the pages and bookmark some favorites of your own.

“It was hotter than an oven on broil…”

summer

What’s hotter than an oven on broil you might ask? Well, not only a particularly warm day in October in a rural, southern town, but the resulting hot sex on the bed of a pick-up truck of course!

In my contribution to the scorching anthology Summer Loving edited by the lovely and talented Alison Tyler, a little tale titled An Oven On Broil, heat is the theme in more ways than one.

The main character, Louise, is already at home pissed that her husband hasn’t gotten her car fixed, then when the air conditioning in the house goes out, putting the icing on the cake, she’s really steamed.

In fact, she’s heated enough to walk in the heat to confront her husband, but he finds a way to cool her down, while at the same time, cranking up the heat.

This story came easily to me and flowed almost flawlessly since heat, to me, is synonymous with sex. I love the sweaty stickiness of getting it on in high temperatures, be it on the hot sand of a beach or on the deck of your house on the hottest day of the year.

This particular excerpt should get you all hot and steamy yourself, wherever you are…

Louise didn’t care that there were no sheets or blankets there. She just wanted him inside her. She was willing to risk a few minutes of discomfort for some spontaneous fucking in the middle of a hot day.

Doug guided Louise to the back of the truck and eased her on her back. Her dress was rolled up to her breasts now and the hot ridges of the truck bed stung her skin.

            She flinched.

            Doug paused.

            “Too hot?”

Louise shook her head and pulled Doug closer.

            “No, keep going.”

Doug worked his way out of his shorts, exposing a lengthy and solid cocoa cock that he placed directly between her legs as he lowered himself inside her.

It was like someone stuck a fork in her. Louise wouldn’t last a minute, not if Doug kept on like this.

His moves were fluid. His humming in her ear didn’t help matters. She was turned on high, and she couldn’t help it. She was going to boil over…

I’m In Love With A Cover

cant

Last week, I got wind of the awesome news that my very first edited anthology (there’s a phrase you might as well get used to hearing), Cant’ Get Enough is now available for pre-order on Amazon. I don’t know how I wasn’t out there searching (read stalking) myself, but I guess I figured with a Summer 2014 release date, it would be too early. But no, honey, here it is.

And you, of course, have feasted your eyes on the lusciousness above that is the cover for the anthology. I may be just a tad biased, but I think that Cleis hit it out of the park with this one. The thinly veiled nakedness of bodies behind a shower curtain, the steam from the heat, the sense of urgency of a couple getting it on during shower time. I think it so adequately speaks to the theme of this anthology and does wonderfully in hitting home the point I was trying to make with this collection. On its Amazon page is also a blurb, but here it is for your convenience and such:

Veteran erotica author and first-time editor Tenille Brown has collected stories for Can’t Get Enough that highlight the essence of insatiable desire. With contributions from familiar names like Rachel Kramer Bussel, Jacqueline Applebee, and Giselle Renarde, along with newer voices like Monica Corwin and Beatrix Ellroy, this is a book full of diverse and dynamic characters who are bold and daring and even some who are surprisingly subtle. The authors here knock the Can’t Get Enough theme right out of the park with stories that will leave readers as breathless as the characters they’re reading about, dying for more.

Keep checking back here as I will soon be posting the introduction from the book and the sizzling table of contents.

Right this way…

Let me point you to a couple of nice reviews for Baby Got Back, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel, which includes my story on boo-tay play, Brenda’s Booty and which isn’t even officially out yet!

There’s this one from Tumblr

And this one from Jason Frost – love this guy.

I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy that both reviews mention my story. 🙂

“I like big butts and I cannot lie…”

I saw yesterday that awesome writer and editor Rachel Kramer Bussel posted an excerpt of my story Brenda’s Booty on her Lusty Lady Blog. I really like the section she chose to highlight and actually, I’m really fond of this story overall. The main character, Brenda, is feisty, and she meets her match in ass admirer Lewis.

I wasn’t always into anal…writing about it that is. I think my first anal sex story was Speed Bumps featured in Rachel’s Fast Girls and was reprinted in Cleis Press’ Backdoor Pleasures and I’ve been dabbling ever since.

Baby Got Back is available for pre-order from Amazon, but you can check my little snippet out now.

I Read, Enjoyed and Reviewed Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Cheeky

cheeky

I’m a visual person so first of all, Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Cheeky Spanking Stories appealed to me aesthetically. As I dug into the book and devoured story after story, however I found that the vast range of themes and characters came together to give the reader something that appealed to other senses like the obvious – touch, or in these cases, sound smacks- and of course, sound.
With such a straight forward theme like spanking, it’s important to add in other elements to round out a collection like which is why it was refreshing for me to see acts of domination as in Lucy Felthouse’s A Perfect Dom where a pair of hot pants give an unintentional invitation. I’m never mad when the lady has the upper hand like in Birthday Boy by Cecilia Duvalle where a woman goes all out to give her husband of twenty years a birthday spanking.

In fact there are several instances in this collection where the woman takes the lead, even when it’s another woman that she’s leading, as in Theresa Noelle Robert’s Mermaid, the mind blowing girl on girl tale of seaside fun and frolic. Giselle Renarde’s bored female lead finds herself touched –in more ways than one- by a stranger in Butch Girls Don’t Cry.

Even the spanking as punishment element gets a new spin in Craig J. Sorenson’s Unwrapping and Thomas S. Roche’s Papers to Grade.

And in one final treat the editor herself book ended the collection with a, well,
remarkable story called Marks. In it a couple visits to a nudist hotel which prompts one woman’s insecurities about wearing the bright red remains of her partner’s spanking. I was naturally drawn to this story of intrigue where it prompted me to think of lipstick on a collar, where you see it, and wonder just when and how it got there.

Whether you’re a giver a receiver, or like me, a voyeur, you’re bound to find
several gems in Cheeky to leave you poised, panting and ready for a lick or two.

I posted this review on Amazon and gave it a well deserved five stars.

Beginning Again

bunny

I am participating in the Blisse Bunny Hop and we’re talking about New Beginnings, or in my case, starting over. My story, Matters of the Heart featured in Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Only You: Erotic Romance for Women is about a couple who has broken up and run into each other again. I love a fresh start and hopefully you will like starting over with these two.

Excerpt

To anyone lingering in the parking lot, they might have looked exactly like the romantic couple they used to be, holding hands and smiling, but they both knew better.

They stopped at Clarence’s car, Charlene leaning against it, Clarence standing in front of her.
“Well,” Charlene started, and then she stopped.

She looked down at what she held in her hands. There was the matter of the heart to deal with, the red velvet cake with thick chocolate icing that she held against her middle.

Charlene extended the white box toward Clarence.

“Here, you can it have it,” she said. “I don’t need it.”

“Sure you do. Everybody needs a heart.” he said.

“Split it?” Charlene smiled.

“Sure.”

Charlene opened the box. Hesitant, but bold, she swiped her finger across the thick icing. She slid some into her own mouth first, then went in again and offered some to Clarence next.

He accepted it, his eyes holding hers steady.

His mouth was moist and hot around her fingers. He may as well had been touching Charlene the way the bumps rose on her skin and her nipples hardened as if a soft wind had come through.

Clarence sucked gently on her finger for much longer than it took to taste the icing and Charlene’s body was so aware of him now that she rose on her toes and her eyes fluttered closed with the sensation.

“Sweet,” Clarence said, his voice deep.

“Yes, sweet,” Charlene said, though she didn’t know whether Clarence was referring to the icing or her.

“Tonight was pretty nice.” Clarence rocked back and forth on his heels.

“It was,” Charlene nodded.

“Romantic,” he said.

“Yes.”

And this was the point at which she could have chosen to walk away, get into her car and drive off, but more than that, more than anything, Charlene wanted to do something else.

So, if tonight were the last time she ever saw him again, she wouldn’t remember the silver heart breaking, she would remember this…

Softly at first, Charlene’s lips merely rested upon his, as if by accident. And she stepped in close to him, so that the fabric in their shirts rubbed against each other.

Afraid to part her lips further, and invite Clarence inside her mouth, Charlene remained that way, afraid he wouldn’t enter, or if he did, afraid he wouldn’t linger.

Clarence removed the conflict of decision from her, and gently pried her lips open with the bittersweet wetness of his tongue.

Laced with sweetness and scotch, his tongue was tart. It was strong and sure like he was, and it moved in and around her mouth.

Pulling away, Charlene breathed in deep. And there it was, the love she had temporarily tucked away. It floated up and out, lingered in the atmosphere only briefly before engulfing her in a misty cloud of rain.

Clarence removed the box from her hands and placed it on the hood of his truck. He gripped both her wrists in one of his hands and raised her arms above her head. He leaned Charlene back against the front of the truck so that her back arched naturally at the center.

Charlene lifted her legs and wrapped them tightly around his hips. His crotch was precisely placed against hers beneath her denim skirt. She felt the head of his enlarged cock rubbing against the fabric of her panties.

She reached down to unzip his pants, but Clarence pulled her hand away.

He was punishing her and she knew it, giving her what she deserved for saying whatever foolish things she had said. Clarence was punishing Charlene so thoroughly and sweetly that tears sprung to her eyes and she bit down on her bottom lip in sweet agony.

Through the fabric of his pants and her panties, Clarence rubbed his cock against her cunt. Charlene’s panties were saturated and they clung to the warm square between her legs.

She wanted to beg for release from this torture, she wanted to beg Clarence to give her more, but she knew that if she had him inside her now, she would surely explode, and for that, she wasn’t ready.

“I miss you,” Clarence growled into her neck.

The words brought her even closer to the edge.

“You left me,” Charlene responded in gasps.

“You made me,” Clarence insisted as he rubbed his cock against her with more force, more urgency.

Charlene didn’t continue the debate.

She just said, “Come back. Clarence, come back.”
