Yep, I know.
So, let’s get to it, shall we?
I put a new picture up on my website. One day I’ll get some professional pictures done and you all will see something that doesn’t look like a mugshot.
Glamour Girls: Femme/Femme Erotica is officially out. It features my favorite story (written by me) Dressing Desire, about a bride, a seamstress and some satin. I should be getting my contributor’s copies soon… hopefully. The post office has royally screwed up my change of address stuff (and had the nerve to charge me a dollar!) so I don’t get 75% of my mail. Luckily no one has moved into my old house and my good friend K still runs by to check it for me.
Anyway, the editor, the wonderfully sexy and talented Rachel Kramer Bussel has a blurb about it on her blog and even a snippet from one of the stories. Check that out here.
The other day, she picked up a bundle which included my copy of Amazons: Sexy Tales Of Strong Women and I’ll be getting it from her tomorrow.
That’s about it. As I mentioned in the little update on my website, same shit, different day.
If this were a more personal blog, I’d have plenty more to say, but alas…
So, I had been having a supremely shitty day when I went to pick up the kids. After they were nicely tucked into the backseat and we were on the road, my baby girl handed me her sippy cup and said, “Mama, I want some milk.”
It made my day and I must tell you that nothing felt better than the three of us laying in bed tonight, my baby boy snoring on one side of me and my baby girl snoring on my chest. I guess I really missed those guys.
Oh, and I went ahead and asked for extensions on those deadlines. All they can say is no, right?
I’m getting pretty sick of Desparate Housewives. They are trying way too hard. Grey’s Anatomy on the other hand is freakin’ awesome.
So, it’s Mother’s Day… my third. Man if I wasn’t so exhausted could I tell you a story here!
Anyhoo! The kiddos are with their dad, and at my request won’t be returning until late in the afternoon. Yeah it’s Mother’s day and sure it sounds sweet to say I’d love to spend it with my children, but you know what… in that case, every day is freakin’ mother’s day and I sure would love to spend this day not chasing after toddlers! Love ya, babies, and miss ya, but see ya when ya get home!
Now, about the writing. There hasn’t been much actual writing but I do have a ton of things to do. I have a deadline tomorrow for two stories that I need to make. I just checked my email for the first time in days and found a private call for submissions from an editor I’m familiar with but haven’t had the opportunity to work with before. Needless to say, I feel honored that this person likes/respects my work enough t want me to include something in her project. And just when I thought no one was paying any attention…
So, the shoot for my short film, Her Mama’s House, didn’t happen yesterday. Apparently there was a last minute schedule conflict with one of the actors. Now the director needs to reschedule and isn’t sure when she can. It didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. I think I’m starting to lose faith that this project is actually going to happen.
Well, I sat here and wrote more than I intended and could probably write more, but I need to get myself dressed, get my room straightened up and be at a Mother’s Day event soon.
Happy Mother’s Day, all you foxy ladies! Enjoy!
I know, I know.
But I just don’t know where the time goes. So you know the routine – overtime, kids, tired, yada, yada, yada.
Aside from all that I have two weeks to complete two stories. I’ve started them and completely adore both so there’s some motivation. Also, Her Mama’s House is being filmed on May 13th. And nope I won’t be there. Can’t afford to fly out there. Ah well.
I have been taking some notes for more work on an older and of course unfinished project. Remember Trouble, my work in progress from last summer/fall? Well, I’m motivated to finally complete at least a first draft. But let me stop there lesat I jinx myself yet again.
No big publishing news. Got asked to write a few stories, so that’s always good. Will I have time to actually write them? We’ll see.
Thanks for continuing to stop by!
